The Story

Amran Sunner, his brother Dylan, and their dad, Bill, together set about creating their own delicious, fresh-fried buttermilk chicken recipe for customers to enjoy, and the idea quickly developed: wings!

They formed Wingers – the Chicken Wing Company – a family-run fast-food franchise business that created delicious, fresh fried buttermilk chicken recipes, which got Midland folk drooling.

The first restaurant opened in Lichfield, quickly followed by six more successes around the county. People got a taste for Wingers, and the franchise is now fast becoming king of the wing.

The team may be growing, the flavours still marinating, but everything is still done the family way. They aim to be the go-to chicken hotspot.

They pride themselves on serving only the finest fried chicken and have rapidly built a reputation as THE CHICKEN WING COMPANY.

Their focus is on flavours and high-quality ingredients to create a tasty meal that customers can enjoy either in one of our eat-in restaurants, take away, or delivered to their door.

Why Wingers  Chose The Ops Portal

We chose The Ops Portal because we needed a one-stop shop for all our franchisees to help them learn the business, as well as to stay informed about any live updates from head office.

The Process

We didn’t have a paper manual; we had everything in our brains, so Louise had to help us build this from scratch. We spent time with Louise and Lisa to create a structure for our manual and fill in all the gaps.

It is now the A to Z on how to operate a Wingers store, and we are proud to call it ‘The Wingers Holy Book’.

The Outcome

It has been a huge success for us. Having an operations manual from an early stage of your business is vital. You always need to establish your brand’s foundation before you can expand. 

The Holy Book is growing with us, and that’s incredibly valuable, allowing us to adapt and update, as needed, constantly.
